Irene Selway

I have been a quilter for more than 30 years and completed a City and Guilds Patchwork and Quilting course in 2005. More recently I have completed a foundation embroidery course and now include embroidered embellishments on quilts as well as making embroidered wall hangings and bags and boxes. I like the fusion between the two approaches. I am now retired from a very busy life but one where I quilted when I got home. I made many hand and machine pieced bed quilts. Now I am enjoying time to experiment with dyeing and painting my own fabrics as well as attending courses.
I have also written articles and am working on a book about women and quilting in their lives. I am an autobiographer and am fascinated by the sometimes hidden creative talent of women who sew.
