Design my own quilt/embroidery projects, which relate to the painting and printed work I am doing at the time. Enjoys hand sewing, loves colour and pattern. Designs have appeared in Popular Patchwork and Sewing World magazines, workshops and an interview on Just Hands on TV, teaches regularly at Lady Sew and Sew in Henley, winner of Sew magazines 'best classes' award in 2015, Creative Quilting in East Molesley and Pauline's Patchwork in Poundbury, Dorset. A retired Art and Design teacher who now enjoys teaching classes and giving talks to quilters. Happy to design unique projects for quilting groups to make in a class or for a special group project. Also makes felt jewellery, decorations and her Hat Pins and upcycled hats are to be found each September at the Bridport Hat Festival. Recent quilts, embroideries and other new work was exhibited annually as part of Buckinghamshire Open Studios and she has demonstrated hand quilting and embroidery at the Chiltern Arts Fest at the Open Air Museum in Buckinghamshire, she also exhibits and teaches at the West Country Quilt Show. Recently moved to the seaside in Hampshire and looking forward to getting the studio up and running again once the builders have gone away! Which they have, at last, though they will be back.
Kate is now almost fully booked for talks and classes in 2017/18. I am taking things a bit more easy, due to increasing mobility problems, in 2018 and will be taking bookings mostly in the South and South West, after 2018 I intend to retire...
