Brenda HOWELL

I explore a variety of textile techniques, am experienced teaching children and adults of various abilities, and have regular bookings for "textile talks".
We have been breeding Jacob Sheep for decades and I hold numerous trophies for wool and woolcrafts -having always encourage people to not only use the natural colours but also dye with natural materials and chemical dyes in a controlled environment. Spinning wool naturally took me into silk and linen, weaving took me into other textile techniques...........
I enjoy co-ordinating the Betws Ifan Textile Art Group in Ceredigion, West Wales - we are mixed ages, mixed gender and mixed interest but ALL friendly and willing to share our different skills.
To extend myself I joined the West Wales Contemporary Quilters - a small group with diverse skills, ideas and interests - we spark off each other and develop from each others advice and constructive criticism - in a friendly environment where we can experiment and test out new techniques, develop old ones and enjoy each others company.
I also co-ordinate the annual TREMAIN TEXTILE CHALLENGE which is always an A3 textile piece.
The theme for 2017 is "Autumn Days". Why not have a go it is free to enter, so a good starting point if you have never competed. Textiles are displayed in Tremain Church, Ceredigion and winner chosen by visitors vote.
